道德经

道可道，非常道；名可名，非常名。

The Dao that can be told is not the eternal Dao. The name that can be named is not the eternal name.

上善若水。水善利萬物而不爭，處衆人之所惡，故幾於道。

The highest good is like water, which benefits all things without striving. It dwells in places people despise, thus it is close to the Dao.

致虛極，守靜篤。萬物並作，吾以觀復。

Embrace stillness and silence to the extreme. Watch how all things return to their source, again and again.

知人者智，自知者明。勝人者有力，自勝者強。

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Conquering others is strength; conquering yourself is true power.

知足者富，強行者有志。

One who knows contentment is rich. One who persists is full of purpose.
